Anti-money-laundering supervision
The practice is supervised for anti-money-laundering purposes by HM Revenue & Customs under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017. We are required to identify and verify our clients and their beneficial owners before acting, so the documents we ask for at the start are not negotiable.
Where the work is carried out
Work is carried out by the practice's teams in the United Kingdom and by its registered company in Pretoria, South Africa, with UK review and sign-off. Personal data may therefore be accessed by our own employees in South Africa, under the UK international data transfer agreement. If you would prefer your work to be handled only in the United Kingdom, tell us before you engage us and we will confirm whether we can accommodate it.
What we are not
- We are not a law firm and are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We do not provide legal advice or carry out reserved legal activities.
- We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and do not give regulated financial advice, nor do we sell or arrange insurance.
- We are not registered auditors and do not carry out statutory audits. Where a subsidiary needs one we introduce a registered audit firm, which you engage directly.
- We do not provide immigration advice, which is a regulated activity in the UK.
- We do not carry out insolvency work, which is excluded from our licence.
- We do not hold client money. We tell you what to pay and to whom; we do not pay HMRC or pension providers out of our own account.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with our work, please tell the director handling your affairs in the first instance, by email to hello@buzzaccounting.co.uk. We will acknowledge within five working days and respond substantively within twenty. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may complain to the AAT, which operates a disciplinary and complaints scheme for licensed members, at aat.org.uk.
